Courtney Quist was born in Atlanta, Georgia. She grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and attend the Bolles School, graduating in 1985. Following that, Courtney majored in English at the University of Florida, graduating in 1990 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. After a move to Rochester Hills, Michigan, Courtney attended Wayne State University Law School, graduating in 1995 with a Juris Doctorate. She is married to George Jay Quist, a Kent County Circuit Court Judge. Together, Courtney and Jay Quist have a son name Jonathan Quist who is a recent graduate of Grand Valley State University and plans to follow in his parents footsteps by pursuing a law degree in Fall 2025.
